A Christmas Celebration for the homeless, formerly homeless, volunteers, and all homeless service providers was held at the Joppa warehouse, in East Village, immediately following the National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day candlelight vigil at the State Capitol.
It was quite a fun evening packed with food, entertainment, and a wrapped gift under the tree for everyone in attendance who has experienced homelessness.
Homeless people typically do not get invited out much and are many times not received warmly at public events. They can become especially lonely around holidays while many of us remain busy and have multiple holiday invitations and events from which to select.
Please mark your calendar now to join the 2011 Christmas Celebration on December 21.
